Network System |
Explanation |
|
Work station: This operator may be posting lots into the system. This operation doesn't need a printer.
Work Station: This operator may be settling bidders. This position can have it's own printer, or can use (share) the server's printer. |
The Network version can be used in a network environment where multiple computers and printers are connected together (networked). The computers "talk" ot each other across the network. One operator might be registering bidders while, another is posting lots, while another is settling bidders. Each position (work station) may have it's own printer, or may share another user's printer. Any and all resources (disk drives, printers, etc.) may be shared by any or all persons on the network. Generally one of the computers in this environment is designated as the "server". The server provides storage for the data files used by the other users and is considered the network "supervisor". |
